Collection: Perfumers Absolutes

An absolute is a highly concentrated aromatic material made by extracting a plant with a solvent to produce a concrete, then washing that concrete with alcohol and removing the alcohol. Absolutes capture materials that steam distillation cannot, which is why they are central to natural perfumery, particularly for flowers such as jasmine, tuberose and osmanthus.

Our Perfumers Range absolutes are chosen for character and rarity, and many come from well-known houses, which we credit on the listing. Some are naturally thick or waxy, so they are diluted in natural TEC, or a blend of natural TEC and benzyl benzoate, for easier handling. The dilution is always stated. Certificates of analysis and safety data sheets are available on request where our suppliers provide them, and rarer materials may need 7-10 days.
