Appearance - Greenish brown to dark brown coloured, viscous liquid but pourable
Scent- A scent of moist moss and lichen
Main Uses - Natural Perfumery

Oak moss is a light green lichen that is found growing on oak trees (though sometimes on other species as well such as Pines and Firs). The essential oil of oakmoss is often used in perfumery as a fixative. The extraction process is by traditional solvent extraction of the green oakmoss lichen and is here presented @ 50% in TEC (natural triethyl citrate) which converts the semi-solid material in to a pourable liquid form .

Blends well with: Anise, Bay, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Geranium, Ginger, Lavender, Lime, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Tea Tree, Vetiver and Ylang Ylang.

Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product.

• For External Use Only
• This is a solvent-extracted absolute, not a steam-distilled essential oil 
• Oakmoss absolute contains atranol and chloroatranol, which are significant skin sensitisers 
  
• Distinct from treemoss (Evernia furfuracea), which is a related but different lichen producing a different absolute with a different scent profile 
• Oakmoss absolute may be thick, viscous, or dark in colour – this is normal and does not indicate a quality issue. Gently warming the bottle will improve pourability
• Always use sparingly and dilute well with a suitable carrier oil before applying to skin
• May cause significant skin sensitivity – always perform a patch test before use
• Avoid if pregnant or nursing
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Store in a cool, dark place to preserve freshness
