Vietnamese Blue Lotus CO₂ Wax — The Sacred Flower in Its Rarest Form
The blue lotus — Nymphaea caerulea, revered across ancient Egyptian, Indian, and Buddhist tradition as a symbol of rebirth, purity, and spiritual awakening — is already represented in our range as a solvent-extracted absolute. This CO₂ wax offers a genuinely distinct second expression of the same sacred flower, grown in Vietnam and extracted to capture its full lipid and aromatic complexity in a way the absolute alone does not fully achieve. A genuinely rare material — the sheer volume of flowers required to produce even a small quantity of wax makes this one of the most labour-intensive materials in our entire range.
As the pure wax is solid at room temperature, we supply it diluted at 50% in IPM (isopropyl myristate) — a lightweight, cosmetic-grade ester derived from natural coconut and palm sources, chosen for the notably clear, workable pourability it offers compared to more viscous carriers.
Scent Profile
Serene and gently floral, with a soft, luminous character that speaks of still water and quiet devotion. A delicate sweetness underlies the floral heart, developing into a soft, comforting warmth without ever becoming heavy. Genuinely easy to incorporate into a composition — only a small amount is needed to provide real fragrance impact, true to the concentrated nature of this rare material. This is a quiet, meditative wax rather than a bold, projecting one — genuinely distinct from the deeper, more complex character of our blue lotus absolute, offering perfumers a lighter, more serene expression of the same sacred flower.
Perfumery Applications
Well suited to delicate floral compositions, meditative and spa-inspired fragrances, and gentle skin-scent perfumery where genuine blue lotus character is wanted without heaviness. A little goes a long way — start with a small amount and build gradually. Used alongside our Sri Lankan Blue Lotus Absolute, it allows perfumers to build a genuinely layered lotus accord across two distinct extraction methods.
Blending Suggestions
Pairs beautifully with sandalwood, rose absolute, jasmine, neroli, benzoin, vanilla, amber accords, and our other lotus materials for a layered sacred-floral accord.
