Summer Hedgerow CO₂ Wax — Pure, Soft, Uncompromised
The raspberry — Rubus idaeus — is a familiar plant of hedgerows and woodland edges, and its leaves carry a fresh, green scent that is very different from the sweetness of the fruit. This CO₂ wax is extracted from the leaves and offers a rare way to work with that green character in concentrated form. It is already in our range as an absolute; this is the same plant in a quite different, waxy form.
Supplied here in its pure, undiluted form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. It is a soft, semi-solid wax rather than a hard one. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.
Scent Profile
A fresh, green aroma with a slightly fruity character — crisp leaf and cut stems with a hint of berry.
Perfumery Applications
Well suited to solid perfumes, balms and other anhydrous formulations, and to green, fruity-green, fougère and fresh floral compositions where a natural leafy freshness is wanted. Used alongside our Raspberry Leaf Absolute, it allows perfumers to build a layered raspberry-leaf accord across two different extraction methods. Introduce it gradually when building a composition.
Usage Note
This wax is soft to semi-solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.
Blending Suggestions
Pairs beautifully with violet leaf, galbanum, bergamot, neroli, rose, jasmine, geranium, vetiver, oakmoss and soft musks, and with our other green materials.
