Purple Meadow CO₂ Wax — Pure, Solid, Uncompromised

True lavender — Lavandula angustifolia — is one of the cornerstones of perfumery, the heart of the classic fougère and a favourite of perfumers for centuries. Here it appears in a form few people have worked with: the wax fraction from supercritical CO₂ extraction of Bulgarian-grown flowers, supplied as a creamy solid with the soft, rounded character of the flower rather than the sharp brightness of the distilled oil.

Supplied here in its pure, undiluted, solid wax form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.

Scent Profile

Soft and floral, with a herbaceous character and a warm balsamic depth, finishing with gentle woody notes. A calm, rounded lavender rather than a sharp or camphoraceous one.

Perfumery Applications

Well suited to solid perfumes, balms and other anhydrous formulations, and to fougères, chypres, soft florals and herbal-woody compositions where a gentle lavender warmth is wanted. Introduce it gradually when building a composition.

Usage Note

This wax is solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with clary sage, bergamot, geranium, rose, chamomile, oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli, cedarwood, sandalwood and soft musks, and with our French Lavender Absolute for a layered lavender accord.
