Bulgarian Spring Plum Blossom Wax — The Delicate First Flowers of Spring

Plum blossom is one of the most fleeting and most celebrated floral moments of the year — the first flowers to appear on bare branches at the very start of spring, prized across Chinese and East Asian tradition as a symbol of resilience and renewal. This CO₂ wax, extracted from Bulgarian-grown Prunus domestica flowers, captures that brief seasonal moment in concentrated form — a soft, delicate floral-fruity material of genuine rarity that speaks of the particular balance of strength and tenderness found in the earliest blooms of the year.

As the pure wax is solid at room temperature, we supply it at 50% in natural triethyl citrate (TEC) — an odourless, citrus-derived carrier that restores workable pourability. Given the genuinely waxy nature of this material, some warming may be required before use, and a degree of natural cloudiness or thickening at cool temperatures is characteristic of authentic CO₂ waxes of this kind rather than a fault.

Scent Profile

Soft, delicate, and gently floral-fruity — a tender, springlike sweetness with subtle floral facets that evoke the fragility of blossom on bare branches. This is a quiet, understated material rather than a bold, assertive one — a genuine character material for perfumers seeking authentic, unusual botanical subtlety rather than dramatic projection.

Perfumery Applications

Well suited to delicate floral compositions, spring-inspired accords, and gentle skin-scent perfumery where a soft, authentic botanical floral note is wanted without overwhelming the composition. Its subtlety makes it a genuinely interesting material for perfumers building nuanced, understated floral bases rather than bold, projecting florals. Evaluate carefully at working dilution to appreciate its full character.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with rose absolute, jasmine, osmanthus, peach, apricot, sandalwood, soft musks, and light woody materials.
