Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha piperita)

Origin: Native to Europe, now widely cultivated across the United States, India, China, and many other temperate regions. The United States (particularly the Pacific Northwest and Midwest) and India are among the largest producers. The oil is steam-distilled from the fresh or partially dried flowering tops and leaves of the peppermint plant, which belongs to the Lamiaceae (mint) family. Peppermint is a natural hybrid of watermint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata). Peppermint has been one of the most widely used and recognised aromatic plants for centuries, with a deeply established place in perfumery and aromatic traditions worldwide.

Scent: Bright, cool, and intensely minty with a sharp, fresh, penetrating character. Bold and bracing – there's a distinctive, icy, menthol-rich brightness balanced by a subtle, sweet, herbaceous warmth. Slightly peppery and camphoraceous with a faint, green, earthy undertone. Clean, vibrant, and immediately recognisable – a powerful, crisp, classic mint scent that is sharper, cooler, and more intense than spearmint.
