Opopanax Absolute (Commiphora Erythraea)

also known as Sweet Myrrh

Origin: France
Period of Harvest: April to September
Part Used: Stem and Branches
Extraction Method: Solvent Extraction of the gum resin
Appearance: Reddish brown in colour, thick but pourable
Note: Base Notes (excellent fixative)
Scent: Reminiscent of myrrh but on the woodier side with spicy undertones and a small concentrated sweetness
Growing Conditions: Grown on unpolluted sustainable land.
Blends well with Amber Oil, Benzoin, Frankincense, Myrrh, Citrus Oils, Bergamot, Neroli, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Vetiver.

Opopanax is an oil that is on a par with Frankincense and Myrrh. It has a sweetly aromatic, warm, spicy and deeply balsamic aroma with woody, root-like notes and faint celery / lovage undertones. In natural perfumery it can introduce a musky and subtly animalic character to your creations.

All pure absolutes such as this oil are now rare and extremely concentrated by nature. They should be properly evaluated in a diluted state otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance, particularly the rare and exotic notes are not properly appreciated.

For External Cosmetic Use Only

Pure Absolute Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin.

A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. 

Keep away from eyes & sensitive areas. Not suitable for babies, children or pets. Do not use on broken skin.

Avoid all Absolutes if pregnant or nursing
