✦ MITTI ATTAR - The Scent of Rain on Earth ✦
There are few scents as universally recognised and deeply moving as rain falling on warm, dry earth. Mitti Attar captures that moment - the earthy, life-giving fragrance of the first monsoon rains on the baked soil of the Indian subcontinent - in a single drop of pure oil.
"Mitti" is the Hindi and Urdu word for earth or soil. Unlike most attars, this fragrance does not come from a flower, a resin, or a spice - it comes from the earth itself.
THE SCENT PROFILE
Mitti Attar is the olfactory equivalent of petrichor - the distinctive scent released when rain meets dry earth. The aroma is simultaneously ancient and immediately familiar: deeply earthy, warmly dry, gently smoky, with a soft sandalwood foundation that grounds and extends the scent on the skin.
On application, the opening is cool and mineral, evoking rain-damp clay and wet stone. As it settles, a warm dry earthiness emerges - reminiscent of sun-baked terracotta, forest floor, and wood smoke on a warm breeze. The sandalwood base slowly melds with the skin's natural chemistry, producing a uniquely personal fragrance.

This is not a sweet, floral, or conventionally perfume-like fragrance. It is raw, elemental, and deeply contemplative - beloved by those who find beauty in the natural world and in stillness.
ORIGIN & PRODUCTION
Mitti Attar comes from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh - India's historic perfume capital, with an attar-making tradition stretching back over 400 years. The fragrance is produced by hydro-distilling locally fired clay in a copper still over pure sandalwood oil, using the traditional deg-bhapka method recognised by UNESCO as part of India's intangible cultural heritage. The yield is exceptionally small, making this one of the rarest attars in the world.
HOW TO WEAR & USES

- Meditation & Spiritual Practice: The grounding, earthy quality makes Mitti Attar exceptionally suited to meditation, breathwork, yoga and contemplative prayer.
- Aromatherapy & Wellbeing: Many find the petrichor scent deeply calming and grounding, making it a popular choice for meditation and moments of quiet.
