Juniper Dusk CO₂ Wax — The Berry of the Evergreen, in Pure Solid Form

Few aromatic berries are as instantly recognisable as the juniper. Juniperus communis carries a clean, resinous freshness that has made it a familiar presence in perfumery for generations, and here it is offered in a form seldom seen: the wax fraction of the berries, drawn out by supercritical CO₂ extraction, from Bulgaria.

Supplied in its pure, undiluted, solid wax form, exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. It is intended for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work with the material at its most concentrated.

Scent Profile

A fresh, woody and balsamic aroma, evergreen in character, with the clean resinous lift that juniper is known for. As a wax rather than an essential oil, it brings a softer, rounder and more substantial feel than the sharper top note of the distilled oil.

Perfumery Applications

Well suited to natural perfume, solid fragrances, balms and other anhydrous compositions, where a wax-based material blends in naturally. A fresh woody-balsamic accent for fougère, chypre and conifer structures, and a supple bridge between citrus openings and resinous or woody bases.

Usage Note

This wax is solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with cypress, cedarwood, vetiver, frankincense, labdanum, bergamot, grapefruit, lavender, clary sage, rosemary, patchouli, oakmoss and rose.
