Holy Grass CO₂ Wax — Pure, Solid, Uncompromised

True sweetgrass — Hierochloe odorata — holds deep traditional and ceremonial significance across many North American and Eurasian cultures, where it is braided and burned as a sacred plant of purification and gratitude. Genuinely distinct from our existing Alpine Sweetgrass/Hay (Hierochloe alpina, a related but separate species), this CO₂ wax captures the full lipid and aromatic complexity of true sweetgrass in concentrated form.

Supplied here in its pure, undiluted, solid wax form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.

Scent Profile

Warm, sweet, and gently balsamic — with soft notes of freshly cut hay and sun-dried grass, considerably rounder and more concentrated than a simple distilled note. A genuinely comforting, grounding character that develops beautifully over time.

Usage Note

This wax is solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with tonka bean, hay absolute, vanilla, sandalwood, cedarwood, lavender, and soft musks.
