Everlasting Gold CO₂ Wax — Pure, Solid, Uncompromised

Helichrysum italicum — the immortelle, or everlasting, also known as the curry plant or Italian strawflower — is a hardy Mediterranean herb whose golden flower heads keep their colour long after drying, which is how it earned its name. It is best known in perfumery as a steam-distilled oil and a solvent-extracted absolute. This CO₂ wax offers a third, quite different way to work with the same plant, in concentrated solid form.

Supplied here in its pure, undiluted, solid wax form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.

Scent Profile

Warm and herbaceous, with dried-flower nuances, a soft hay-like quality and subtle honeyed or woody undertones. As with any natural wax, the strength and character of the scent can vary a little from batch to batch.

Perfumery Applications

Well suited to solid perfumes, balms and other anhydrous formulations, and to herbal, amber, chypre and woody-oriental compositions where the warm, honeyed character of immortelle is wanted. Evaluate it in your intended base, as other oils, butters and aromatic materials can change how its scent develops. Introduce it gradually when building a composition.

Usage Note

This wax is solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with lavender, clary sage, labdanum, benzoin, tobacco, tonka bean, vanilla, rose, ylang ylang, sandalwood, cedarwood and soft musks, and with our other helichrysum materials for a layered immortelle accord.
