Part of our Professional Perfumers Range — curated for the discerning natural perfumer seeking exceptional depth and rarity.
Clary Sage Absolute
Botanical Name: Salvia sclarea L.
Origin: Provence France
Part Used: The Flowering Tops
Period of Harvest: June -July
Extraction Method: Solvent Extraction
Appearance: Brownish Green, viscous mobile liquid (thick but pourable)
Scent: A rich herbaceous aroma with soft hay and tobacco undertones, very tenacious.
Note: Middle Note, An Excellent Fixative
Use: Natural Perfumery
Growing Conditions: Grown on unpolluted sustainable land.
Blends well with Carnation, Cedarwood, Juniper, Pine, Sandalwood, Lavender, Lime, Orange, Champaca, Frankincense.
A rare and expensive absolute to produce as it takes around 90kg of flowerheads to produce only 1kg of absolute.
All pure absolutes such as this oil are now rare and extremely concentrated by nature. They should be properly evaluated in a diluted state otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance, particularly the rare and exotic notes are not properly appreciated.
Pure Absolute Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product.
For External Cosmetic Use Only
Keep away from eyes & sensitive areas. Not suitable for babies or children. Do not use on broken skin. Avoid all Absolutes if pregnant or nursing
Iml sample supplied in a clear flint glass bottle with inbuilt dropper and tamper evident cap
5ml & 10ml supplied in a glass amber bottle with inbuilt dropper and tamper evident cap
Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
