Champaca Gold CO₂ Wax — Pure, Solid, Uncompromised

Champaca — Magnolia champaca, long known to perfumers as Michelia champaca — is the golden-yellow magnolia of South and South-East Asia, prized for a luminous, creamy blossom scent that has been used in fine perfumery and temple offerings for centuries. It is already in our range as a solvent-extracted absolute. This CO₂ wax is extracted from the blossoms and offers the same flower in a different form: a concentrated solid that suits solid perfumes, balms and other anhydrous work.

Supplied here in its pure, undiluted, solid wax form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.

Scent Profile

A luminous, creamy floral character with citrus-blossom freshness, a touch of green, and honeyed nuances — rich yet radiant, with the glow that champaca is known for.

Perfumery Applications

Well suited to solid perfumes, balms and other anhydrous formulations, and to white-floral, tea, oriental and woody compositions where a creamy, honeyed magnolia warmth is wanted. Used alongside our Yellow Magnolia Absolute, it allows perfumers to build a layered champaca accord across two different extraction methods. Introduce it gradually when building a composition.

Usage Note

This wax is solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with sandalwood, jasmine, ylang ylang, tuberose, neroli, orange blossom, rose, vanilla, benzoin and soft musks, and with our other champaca materials.
