Black Spruce Essential Oil (Picea mariana)

Also known as Bog Spruce, Shortleaf Black Spruce, Swamp Spruce

Origin: Native to North America, primarily found across Canada and the northern United States, where it thrives in cold, boreal forests and wetland areas. The oil is steam-distilled from the needles and twigs of the black spruce tree, which belongs to the Pinaceae (pine) family. Black spruce is a hardy, slow-growing conifer that is well adapted to harsh northern climates and is one of the most widely distributed trees across the Canadian boreal forest. It has a long history of use in aromatic traditions among indigenous North American peoples and is increasingly valued in modern perfumery and artisan fragrance work.

Scent: Fresh, clean, and softly resinous with a rich, balsamic, evergreen character. Cool and crisp - there's a bright, green, needle-like freshness balanced by a warm, sweet, woody depth. Subtly earthy with a faint, smoky, slightly fruity undertone. Smooth, grounding, and beautifully forest-like - a refined, elegant conifer scent that is softer and sweeter than many other spruce oils.

Uses:
