✦ BAKUL ATTAR - The Forgotten Flower of Ancient India ✦
Bakul - known botanically as Mimusops elengi - is one of the most ancient, revered, and poetically celebrated flowers in the entire Indian fragrance tradition. A close relative of the moulsari flower, the bakul is a small, star-shaped, creamy white bloom of extraordinary delicacy and fragrance, found growing on tall, graceful trees across the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia. Referenced in ancient Sanskrit texts, celebrated in classical Indian poetry and literature as a symbol of love, longing, and eternal beauty, and treasured by the master perfumers of Kannauj as one of the rarest and most precious of all attar flowers, bakul is a fragrance of quiet, timeless grace.
In classical Indian poetry, the bakul flower is said to bloom only when touched by the breath of a beautiful woman - a legend that speaks perfectly to the extraordinary intimacy and delicacy of its fragrance. Bakul Attar captures this rare and beautiful flower in a pure, alcohol-free perfume oil of exceptional softness and depth.
THE SCENT PROFILE
Bakul Attar opens with a soft, sweet, creamy floral - delicate yet immediately distinctive, with a warmth and intimacy that sets it apart from more familiar florals such as rose or jasmine. It shares some of the gentle creaminess of its relative moulsari, but with a slightly deeper, richer, and more honeyed character that gives it a quiet opulence all of its own. As it settles on the skin, a warm, powdery softness develops, and the sandalwood base slowly draws the luminous bakul character inward, producing a fragrance that is deeply personal, quietly beautiful, and enduringly graceful.

ORIGIN & PRODUCTION
Bakul Attar is crafted in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh - India's historic perfume capital, with an attar-making tradition stretching back over 400 years. The bakul flower is one of the rarest and most prized flowers in the classical Kannauj attar tradition - its distillation a highly skilled and painstaking art requiring great care and expertise to preserve the extraordinary delicacy and warmth of the bloom. Fresh bakul blossoms are carefully hydro-distilled over pure sandalwood oil using the traditional deg-bhapka method, recognised by UNESCO as part of India's intangible cultural heritage, at the precise moment of their peak fragrance. No alcohol, no synthetic fixatives - only the finest natural materials and time.
