Atlas Heartwood CO₂ Wax — Pure, Semi-Solid, Uncompromised

The Atlas cedar, Cedrus atlantica, is a mountain conifer long associated with the high slopes of North Africa, and its heartwood has been prized by perfumers for generations. Here that heartwood is captured by supercritical CO₂ extraction, preserving the waxy fraction that distillation leaves behind and giving a cedar expression with a rounded, textural depth.

Supplied in its pure, undiluted, semi-solid wax form — exactly as extracted, with no carrier of any kind added. This is the genuine article for perfumers who prefer to prepare their own dilutions, or who want to work directly with the material in its most concentrated and authentic state.

Scent Profile

A warm, woody and balsamic aroma with a rounded cedar character. The captured wax fraction lends a smooth, soft body beneath the woody heart.

Perfumery Applications

A base note and fixative for woody, chypre, fougère, amber and balsamic compositions, where it brings warmth, softness and lasting depth. It also suits anhydrous and solid perfume formulations.

Usage Note

This wax is semi-solid at room temperature. To prepare for use, gently warm in a water bath at around 90°C to melt it into a liquid, then dilute with your solvent of choice according to your own formulation preferences.

Blending Suggestions

Pairs beautifully with sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli, labdanum, benzoin, frankincense, oakmoss, bergamot and soft musks.
