Ambrette Seed Oil has woody, musky and slightly floral notes.

Ambrette Seed (Abelmoschus moschatus) is a type of Hibiscus. It is derived from the seeds of the musk mallow plant and is indigenous to India. Ambrette Seed oil is used by the natural perfumer as a substitute for animal derived musk oil. Ambrette Seed's common name in India is Musk Dana or Musk Seed. Its tenacity is legendary. Even a small amount can have an exalting effect in a composition, while giving it a unique smoothness/richness.

Ambrette Seed Oil is an excellent fixative in natural perfumes that improves with age.

This oil blends well with: Amyris, Bergamot, Carrot seed, Cedarwoods, Cognac, Costus, Frankincense, Galbanum, Guaiacwood, Gurgun balsam, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Mandarin, Mimosa, Myrrh, Orange, Patchouli, Peppermint, Spruce.

All pure oils such as this are now rare and extremely concentrated by nature. They should be properly evaluated in a diluted state otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance, particularly the rare and exotic notes are not properly appreciated.
