About This Oil

Sesame seed oil is cold-pressed from sesame seeds, one of the oldest oilseed crops known to humanity, cultivated for over 5,000 years across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. This oil typically has a pale golden to amber appearance (depending on whether it's refined or unrefined) and a characteristic mild to moderate nutty aroma that adds character to cosmetic formulations.

Important Note: Sesame oil comes in two main types - unrefined (darker colour, stronger nutty aroma) and refined (lighter colour, milder scent). Unrefined retains more of the natural colour and aroma from the seeds, while refined offers a more neutral profile. Both varieties maintain good stability.

The sesame plant has deep cultural and traditional significance, particularly in Ayurvedic practices where sesame oil has been a cornerstone ingredient for millennia.
