Indian Tuberose Absolute — LMR's Finest, Selected from Grasse
Few flowers in the history of fragrance have captivated perfumers quite like tuberose. So intensely narcotic that Victorian ladies were once warned against wearing it for fear of losing their composure entirely, its reputation as perfumery's most sensual white floral has never dimmed. This absolute, produced by LMR from Indian-grown Polianthes tuberosa, was selected after comparing the offerings of every leading Grasse supplier — chosen specifically for its extraordinary clarity of scent and the remarkable diaphanous quality of its drydown, a rare achievement for a material of such richness.
Even the smallest trace of genuine tuberose absolute transforms a composition — a mere touch can naturalise and enrich a classic jasmine-and-rose floral accord, or lend an unmistakable sultry depth few other materials achieve. As the pure absolute is exceptionally concentrated, we supply it diluted at 50% in TEC (triethyl citrate) — matching the manufacturer's own proven carrier for this material — giving a genuinely workable, stable material without compromising its remarkable character.
Scent Profile
An intensely heady white floral opening of extraordinary richness — profound creamy, lactonic depth balanced by unexpected green, camphoraceous facets that lift and refine what might otherwise be an overwhelming sweetness. A quiet animalic warmth runs beneath the floral heart, adding genuine sensual complexity. The drydown is where this material truly distinguishes itself — remarkably clear and diaphanous rather than heavy, persisting for well over 200 hours on a smelling strip while never losing its refined, luminous quality.
Perfumery Applications
A luxurious heart-to-base modifier, indispensable in white floral bouquets and high-end oriental compositions requiring genuine sensual depth. Used at trace levels it enriches and naturalises jasmine-rose accords with remarkable subtlety; used more generously it becomes an unmistakable centrepiece. Average recommended use is around 0.55% in a finished compound — a small amount carries extraordinary weight in the final composition. IFRA 51: 2.2% in finished product (Category 4).
Blending Suggestions
Pairs beautifully with jasmine, rose absolute, ylang ylang, orange blossom, sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean, benzoin, labdanum, and soft musks. The classic pairing with jasmine and rose for a narcotic white floral trilogy is a natural and rewarding starting point.
