Cypress Essential Oil (Cupressus sempervirens)

Origin: Native to the eastern Mediterranean region, now widely cultivated across France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, and other Mediterranean countries. France and Spain are among the most notable producers. The oil is steam-distilled from the needles, twigs, and small branches of the Mediterranean cypress tree, which belongs to the Cupressaceae (cypress) family. Sometimes referred to as Italian cypress or evergreen cypress, Cupressus sempervirens is one of the most iconic trees of the Mediterranean landscape. It has been revered since ancient Greek and Roman times and holds deep cultural and symbolic significance across many Mediterranean cultures. It has a long-established place in perfumery and aromatic traditions.

Scent: Fresh, clean, and softly woody with a crisp, green, slightly resinous character. Smooth and refined – there's a bright, coniferous freshness balanced by a warm, balsamic, slightly smoky depth. Subtly spicy and herbaceous with a faint, dry, amber-like undertone. Elegant, grounding, and beautifully balanced – a classic, understated evergreen scent that is lighter and more refined than many other conifer oils.

Uses:
