Ambrette Seed Abelmoschus moschatus is a Hibiscus and is also known as ‘Mischief Flower’. It is derived from the seeds of the muskmallow plant and is indigenous to India. Ambrette Seed oil is used by the natural perfumer as a substitute for animal derived musk oil. Ambrette Seed’s common name in India is Musk Dana or Musk Seed as the odour bears some similarity to animal musk. Its tenacity is legendary. Even a small amount can have an exalting effect in a composition, while giving it a unique smoothness, richness. This oil blends well with: Amyris, Bergamot, Carrot seed, Cedarwoods, Cognac,Costus, Frankincense, Galbanum, Guaiacwood, Gurgun balsam, Juniper Berry, Lavender, Mandarin, Mimosa, Myrrh, Orange, Patchouli, Peppermint, Spruce.
