Vanilla Absolute is extracted from the dried bean pods of the Bourbon Vanilla planifolia native to Madagascar. It has a gorgeous deep, sweet, warm and rich classic Vanilla aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate like undertones.
Vanilla is used a fixative and provides a rich base note in natural perfumes.
It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties which may prevent and even reverse skin damage caused by free radicals and can help in the treatment of acne and other skin conditions and irritations. Vanilla is also useful to slow down signs of ageing by restoring the skin’s brightness and softness.
In Aromatherapy it has both an uplifting and calming effect on the consciousness making it useful for depression.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. If blending into creams, lotions, body butters etc, 1-2% maximum of the pure absolute oil or essential oil to 100% of the product is usually about right.
