Tolu Balsam Absolute Oil
Botanical Name – Myroxylon balsamum
Origin – France
Part Used – The resin

Appearance – Pale brown colour. thick but pourable
Aroma- Ambery, vanilla type of aroma similar to peru balsam or benzoin but more subtle
Main Uses – An excellent fixative in perfumes and for blending with other oils.

Balsam Tolu absolute is mainly used as a fixative for perfumers but is also good for blending with other oils. The aroma is similar to benzoin or peru balsam. It can be blended with gardenia, tuberose, hyacinth, honeysuckle and other sweet floral fragrances to produce interesting perfumes.
Absolutes should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product.
