The Boronia Oil is extracted from aromatic cup-shaped reddish-purple flowers of the shrub Boronia megastigma which grows in Western Australia. It has a rich flowery aroma with undertones of hay and is perhaps the only absolute containing natural ionones giving it an exquisite and unique fragrance which perfumers love. It is also an excellent natural fixative.
Boronia Absolute has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties which may prevent and reverse skin damage caused by age and can help with the treatment of acne. The beautiful fragrance may help alleviate anxiety, irritability and depression, and also works as a natural sleep aid. Boronia Absolute Oil is also said to have aphrodisiac qualities.
Pure Absolute Oils or Essential Oils should always be diluted with a carrier oil such as grapeseed oil or sweet almond oil before using on the skin. A patch test is recommended to see if your skin is sensitive to the product. If blending into creams, lotions, body butters etc, 1-2% maximum of the pure absolute oil or essential oil to 100% of the product is usually about right.
