Khus Green Attar or simply Khus Attar is known in India as ‘The Oil of Tranquillity’ and is made from the root part of the Vetiver plant which is around two years old and is also blended with Indian White Sandalwood. The resulting product from steam distillation produces a fragrance that is best described as sweet, deep, woody, earthy, smoky, amber and balsamic. This wonderful fragrance evokes both warmth and compassion on the wearer.

How is an Attar Made?

Indian Attars are made from fresh flower petals distilled in water by low heat and pressure. Some of them also include exotic spices, woods and resins. After a certain time period, this steam (formed by distillation) comprising the natural plant oils, is put into a container sometimes along with mild sandalwood oil depending on which natural perfume it will be. Then the oils completely blend with the fragrance of the flowers producing an amazing and unique natural Attar
