Frangipani attar produced in the traditional way is a highly concentrated perfume oil with a complex and intoxicating fragrance. It is made by steam distillation of the flowers of the frangipani tree, which is native to Central America and South America but also grows in parts of India. The distillation process takes several hours, and the resulting oil is a pale-yellow liquid with a sweet, floral aroma.

Traditional frangipani attar is often described as having a “heady” fragrance, which means that it is strong and intoxicating. It has top notes of citrus and florals, followed by middle notes of honey and spice, and base notes of musk and sandalwood. The overall effect is a warm, sensual fragrance that is both alluring and comforting.

Traditional frangipani attar is prized for its quality and complexity. It is made with care using traditional methods, and the result is a truly unique and luxurious perfume oil.

Here is a more detailed description of the different notes of traditional frangipani attar:

Top notes: citrus (lemon, bergamot), floral (jasmine, rose)
Middle notes: honey, spice (cinnamon, nutmeg)
Base notes: musk, sandalwood
The top notes are the first to be perceived when you smell the attar, and they are typically the lightest and most fleeting. The middle notes emerge as the top notes fade away, and they provide the heart of the fragrance. The base notes are the last to be perceived, and they linger on the skin long after the other notes have faded.

Traditional frangipani attar is often used in aromatherapy for its calming and relaxing properties. It can also be used to enhance mood and boost confidence. It is a popular choice for perfumes, incense, and candles.

If you are looking for a truly unique and luxurious perfume oil, traditional frangipani attar is a great option. It is a complex and intoxicating fragrance that will leave you feeling refreshed, invigorated, and confident.

The word Attar is derived from the Hindu/Urdu word Ittar which in turn derives from the similar Persian word for Perfume, Itar, and is an essential oil derived from botanical sources such as herbs, spices and flowers and usually blended with a wood oil like, but not always, Sandalwood.

The practice of extracting scent from flowers herbs and spices began in India and has been used there for at least 700 years by skilled artisans to produce exquisite fragrances with some attars actually improving with age like a good wine. The ageing period can last from one to ten years depending on the botanical used and the results desired. Most commonly these oils are extracted via hydro or steam distillation and generally natural perfumes which qualify as Attars are distilled with water rather than by chemical means and they are also alcohol free. Attars are a luxury and in ancient times were used in offerings to the gods.

For thousands of years, attars were considered in some societies to be something that attracted angels and warded off evil spirits. Saints and spiritual aspirants would adorn themselves with these scents to assist them in their journey towards enlightenment.
